First time buyers purchase village inn on the edge of Dartmoor

Drawn to the picturesque location and warmth of the property, David and Anne Morgans have fully embraced their new way of life, in the attractive West Devon village of Bridestowe, having recently bought the White Hart Inn, the only pub in the village. Previously run by Darren and Laura Hemsley, for the last 3 years, David and Anne bought the business through licensed property specialists, Stonesmith of Exeter.

The White Hart is a traditional country village inn and destination public house with masses of character and warmth. David and Anne are loving village life and have been warmly welcomed by the local community. They plan to continue running the business in the same manner as their predecessors, having retained the catering team. They have modified the menu to emphasise their use of fresh quality local produce and have kept the food offering to traditional pub dishes with good sized, affordable meals, available lunchtimes and evenings.

They will continue to support the pubs darts team and are looking forward to welcoming back the village cricket team in the summer. The charity quiz will continue on the second Wednesday of the month, with the money collected going to the evening’s nominated charity.

Situated in the centre of the village, the inn comprises a character main bar, a snug bar, a 34 cover restaurant and well equipped catering kitchen. The first floor owner’s accommodation provides 4 spacious bedrooms (2 which were previously used for letting). Outside to the front there is a lawned beer garden along with a private car park.

Stonesmith have sold the freehold of The White Hart Inn for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £545,000.
