Ring of Bells, North Bovey, Dartmoor, SOLD

Stunning thatched Dartmoor inn sold in confidential off market deal.

Described as “The hub of village life”, the Ring of Bells at North Bovey on Dartmoor is a well known and traditional thatched inn dating back to the 15th Century. The inn, which offers excellent food, ales and letting bedrooms has been sold by licensed property specialists Stonesmith of Exeter.

Acting on behalf of well known publicans John Milan and Steve Bellman, Stonesmith were able to identify a potential purchaser and a sale was negotiated in a confidential off market deal off of a guide price of £600,000 for the valuable freehold business.

The business has been purchased by Richard Edlmann who intends to run the business on the same exacting lines as John and Steve in order to maintain its excellent reputation for good food and well kept real ales in a stunning 15th Century inn. Richard is also delighted with the quality and calibre of the staff that he has inherited at The Ring of Bells.

Mike Phillips of Stonesmith who handled the sale commented “The Ring of Bells is a stunning and well regarded high turnover character thatched Dartmoor inn which has been refurbished to a high standard throughout by our clients John and Steve, who had invested heavily in the pub since purchasing it in 2008. Richard intends to maintain the high standards that customers have come to expect at this iconic thatched Devon inn and we wish him every success with this new venture.

The Ring of Bells is a freehold business and it was sold in a confidential off market deal by Stonesmith for an undisclosed sum off of a guide price of £600,000.
