WELL PRESENTED AND EQUIPPED LICENSED CAFÉ & COFFEE HOUSE, OCCUPYING A PRIME TRADING POSITION ON SIDMOUTH HIGH STREET
THE COURTYARD, 128 HIGH STREET, SIDMOUTH, EAST DEVON, EX10 8EE
Stonesmith property specialists have sold the leasehold of this popular and well-regarded licensed café and coffee house. Formerly known as Baraza and recently renamed “The Courtyard”, this was a fantastic opportunity to purchase an attractive catering business with an excellent reputation. The ground floor lock up premises are purposefully fitted and equipped to a high standard.
The venue occupies a lucrative and prime trading position with a visible frontage within the main high street in the highly regarded coastal resort town of Sidmouth. The attractive East Devon regency town of Sidmouth is an extremely affluent town, situated on the Jurassic Coast in an area officially designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The business was taken over by Gail Smee and her partner Shane Hudson, who have extensive experience working in the catering industry. The Courtyard is now operating as a café restaurant with an emphasis on sustainability and the environment. Sit inside the botanical café or the courtyard garden that soaks up the sun during the day and is lit up into an enchanted spot by night. Its menu is broken into two sections, flower and fauna, with the latter detailing a wide-range of vegan meals and alcoholic beverages.
Gail said: “It’s quite quaint and we thought it had potential. We took it over a week ago. It’s been manic but it’s been worth it. We like Sidmouth because of the diversity of people. Here you can sit down, have a glass of wine and have a few nibbles”
Director of selling agents Stonesmith, Mike Phillips, added:
“we send our best wishes to Gail and Shane with their new venture. Their considerable experience and local knowledge will no doubt ensure that The Courtyard enhances Sidmouth’s café and restaurant offering!”
The leasehold property was sold for an undisclosed figure off an asking price of £65,000.
