Mike is an experienced chef and in 2005 was a young chef finalist in the MARCHE annual awards scheme. He has worked in Malmaison, Birmingham and more recently well known restaurants in Exeter. He was looking for a business that was different to any other in the city but with a similar style of catering to his. The Conservatory fitted the bill and along with help from his partner Charlotte Coombs at front of house, he is carrying on with the quality and style of food that is inherent with the restaurant but adding his own signature dishes.

At present Mike has no plans to change the restaurant decor or design and his only plans for the future may be the addition of afternoon teas between lunch and evening meals.
