Prominent roadside pub between Marazion and Penzance with glimpses of St Michael’s Mount
Set in a character Cornish Village, The Mexico Inn at Longrock was sold by licensed property specialists Stonesmith of Exeter.
New owners Tom and Amy, with the help of baby Hugo, recently bought The Mexico Inn and have quickly made their mark and put their stamp on the popular business. Tom has had many accolades during his stints at various well known Westcountry establishments, including Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant whilst Amy has worked in similar well known businesses a little closer to home. Both have travelled extensively throughout Asia and the USA to hone their skills and explore different culinary tastes and flavours before returning to the South West to set up on their own and start a family.
Having origins reputedly going back 200 years, The Mexico Inn has once again been established as a welcoming meeting place for both locals and the many visitors to the area and offers a warm and hospitable dining experience for those wanting to sample the popular menu featuring local produce from the many suppliers in the area, enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry, or indeed for those wanting a quiet pint of fine local ale after a long day.
Set in the centre of Longrock the pub also benefits from being close to Penzance and its large population and Longrock is set on the shores of Mount Bay, central to the 3 mile stretch of beach from Marazion to Penzance. The area offers a good range of local facilities and services, with Marazion Marsh, an RSPB nature reserve, situated half-a-mile east of the village.
The property is believed to be early 19th Century and is a two storey end of terrace building with various additions to the rear. The property has undergone refurbishment and is now presented in good order throughout. Much of the character and many of the original features have been retained and the pub now briefly offers a main bar, dining room and a conservatory with seating for 64, plus standing room in the bar. There is a well equipped catering kitchen, 4 bedroom family sized owners accommodation and a separate 1 bedroom flat.
Externally to the front of the property there is a paved seating area with benches for 26 customers and a customer car park.
The Mexico Inn is a flexible and deceptively spacious property providing a warm welcome to all who visit. The freehold business was sold by Stonesmith off an undisclosed asking price.
