Thyme, Honiton, SOLD

High quality, attractive and stylish, sandwich bar, coffee shop and takeaway

For many years sisters Allison Moxom and Diane Hawker had wanted to run a catering business together. Allison had a catering background and Diane was experienced in customer service. They felt that the two skills would be suited to a cafe/coffee shop, so set about searching for the right business.

Needing to be close to their homes, they were looking in the East Devon and Honiton area and came across Thyme Coffee Shop and Take-away in Honiton, which was for sale through licensed and leisure property specialists Stonesmith of Exeter, with the sale completed in early January 2014.

Allison and Diane are keen to carry on the coffee shop much as before but are adding their own touches. The name Thyme will stay and the food on offer is similar but with more home made products. As well as the coffee shop and takeaway service they are offering catering for corporate lunches and functions with a collection or delivery service, very much a growing trade. In the near future their next step is to introduce a hot lunches.

Thyme was in good order when the sisters purchased it and they felt there was no need to alter the decor or furnishings yet. The coffee shop still provides 14 covers with a customer servery, kitchen and ancillary areas.

The business benefits from being in a prominent trading position in the centre of Honiton’s main high street. The town attracts a wide range of custom and is well known for its antique shops, book centre and weekly market.

Thyme is a leasehold business which Stonesmith sold for an undisclosed figure. Similar properties can be viewed on Stonesmith’s web site www.stonesmith.co.uk and for further information contact 01392 201262.
